who is building Rising Sun, and why
> Hello, World
I'm Alex, the engineer behind Rising Sun — a portfolio of 24 projects spanning cryptography, AI infrastructure, clinical intelligence, gaming, and identity. The work looks varied on the surface, but every project is a wedge into the same problem: the internet we have isn't the one we were promised.
Five companies decide what you see. Your passwords sit in breachable databases. Your AI reports to advertisers. I'm building the alternative — one project at a time — where users are safe through math (not promises), AIs are allies (not extractors), and infrastructure is decentralized (no single off switch).
Most of these projects ship. Several have paying interest. The point isn't to demo — it's to build the thing.

$ math_over_promises
Zero-knowledge proofs, Merkle commitments, content-addressed storage. If a guarantee depends on me being trustworthy, the guarantee is too weak.
$ ship_to_learn
Every project goes live somewhere — testnet, beta, or production. Real users surface real problems faster than any spec review.
$ portfolio_as_thesis
The 24 projects aren't a scattergun. They're wedges into the same wall: identity, storage, communication, agents, provenance. Each one is independently useful and collectively an alternative stack.
$ allies_not_tools
AI agents in this portfolio work for their owners, not their hosts. Eudaimonia, AAASP, Concord — the user keeps the keys, the memory, and the value.
> Currently Building
● Etch — system-of-records provenance primitive with Merkle MMR receipts, now powering TrialSight's 10-source clinical intelligence layer and Assent (verifiable e-signing).
● TrialSight — clinical intelligence dashboard for pre-commercial biotech, 10–20x cheaper than Citeline/Evaluate.
● Concord — production implementation of the Rising Sun communication protocol, live at concord.im.
● Rising Sun Services — the B2B implementation arm. Custom AI workflows for owner-operators, built on portfolio infrastructure.
